Pattern Life operates two elementary schools in India.  We also care for a handful of children who need loving families
who can support them.  If you’re interested in sponsoring orphans or school children, you may certainly do so.  Orphans
are approximately $50 per month to sponsor, and students are approximately $15 per month to sponsor.

Sometimes people wonder why it costs so much to care for the orphans.  People may hear of other organizations who
care for orphans for less, perhaps $30-35 per month.  Here’s why:  Our orphans enjoy all of the benefits of actually
living in a Seventh-day Adventist home where they are taught about the Lord, given chores, and brought up as children
of the host family.  Of course, food, housing, medical and other costs can become expensive.  And our children live in
northeast India, where costs are higher than in Southern India.  Northeast India has been involved in a simmering
civil-war for well over a decade.  Every now and again, bombs are set off, transportation is cut off for a time, and other
anomalies add to the cost of goods and services.  We feel like comparing our children to children in an institutional
setting is like comparing mangoes and papayas.  They’re not the same thing.  Our
children are in actual homes.

If you’d like to contact our teachers regarding any particular student or orphan,
you’re always welcome to do that.  Their addresses are listed in the “contact us”
section of this web site.  And you are always welcome to talk with any of the rest
of us, too.   Just drop us an email or give us a call.
